CRL Scotland Volunteers at Strathcarron Hospice to Support Local Community

Strathcarron Hospice provides specialist palliative and end of life care to people living in Forth Valley, Cumbernauld, and Kilsyth. They support individuals with life-limiting illnesses, including cancer, organ failure, and complex neurological conditions. Their focus is on helping people live as well as possible by understanding what matters most to them and supporting their personal goals.

Services are delivered free of charge, whether at home, in hospital, care homes, or at the Hospice in Denny. In addition to clinical support, Strathcarron plays a leading role in research, education, and the ongoing development of palliative care services locally and beyond.

As part of our commitment to giving back to the community, CRL Scotland had the privilege of volunteering at Strathcarron Hospice, a truly special place offering compassionate support to individuals and families during some of life’s most challenging times.

During our visit, the team carried out maintenance and restoration work on the pondside decking and the children’s play area. These outdoor spaces offer moments of peace and joy for patients, visitors, and staff, and we were proud to help enhance and preserve them. The day was not only meaningful in terms of giving back but also strengthened our team spirit and sense of community.

We were deeply touched by the warm words of appreciation from Billy at the Hospice:

“I just wanted to formally thank you and your team for all your work yesterday. It was greatly appreciated, and I look forward to welcoming you back sometime in the future.”

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing volunteers: Anne Idziak, Adis Tusku GMICE, Adam Dubiel, Josh Murphy, Gavin Ford, and Jamie Beck from CRL Surveys.

We look forward to supporting Strathcarron Hospice again in the future.
