CRL apply waterproof decking system to protect the concrete ...
Concrete Repairs Ltd were employed as Principal Contractor to carefully remove the existing failed exposed top deck waterproofing and replace with a new waterproof anti-slip coating to the entire surface area of Levels 11 & 12 (exposed concrete substrate deck’s).
The existing failed waterproofing system was carefully removed by fine mill planing and polyplaning. The concrete substrate was then visually and hammer test surveyed to identify any potential spalling and/or delaminated concrete. After the inspection, the concrete was captive shot blast prepared and overlayed using Triflex Deckfloor Hybrid and Deckfloor Ramp Hybrid. The upstands were waterproofed with a Triflex reinforced system. All beam lines were subject to a 1 meter width strip of Promesh and double overband of Triflex R230 reinforced overband, prior to the main system being applied, whereafter all linemarking was reinstated as per existing layout also using Triflex coatings.
The works consisted of;
-
-
- Removal of failed waterproof sytem,
- Hammer test & visual survey,
- Captive shot blast,
- Installation of Triflex Waterproof system, and
- Re-instatement of the linemarking.

"By applying a 1 meter width strip of Promesh and double overband of Triflex R230 reinforced overband prior to the main system being applied we were able to guarantee that the system would be fully waterproof and not crack over the plank joints."
