In 2018, CRL took its next major step forward with the establishment of CRL Australia, bringing seven decades of expertise to the Asia-Pacific region. Based in Melbourne, our Australian operations represent the evolution of our founding principles - extending asset life, reducing environmental impact, and building sustainable communities. Today, we continue our mission across two continents, working towards our Net Zero 2045 commitment while maintaining our reputation for quality, innovation, and uncompromising safety standards.
The new millennium marked CRL's transformation into a sustainability-focused leader. We achieved ISO 14001 Environmental Management System accreditation and began implementing circular economy principles long before they became industry standard. By 2010, we had established our baseline for carbon reduction, setting ambitious targets that would drive a 33% reduction in emissions over the following decade while diverting 97.5% of our waste from landfill.
Through the 1980s and 1990s, CRL expanded its capabilities and geographical reach across the UK. We developed specialised expertise in concrete repair, structural strengthening, and corrosion control, becoming the trusted partner for complex infrastructure projects. Our commitment to quality and innovation earned us recognition as industry leaders, while our focus on safety and environmental responsibility began shaping our core values.
