CRL was engaged to undertake a combination of roof waterproofing and basement injection works at a residential building in Beaconsfield, Melbourne. The project commenced in February 2022 and was completed in September 2022, with additional patch repairs and membrane applications incorporated as the scope evolved.
The roof works involved the application of a three-layer bituminous torch-applied membrane system. Following thorough surface preparation, a primer layer was applied, followed by two successive layers of bituminous torch-on membrane. This system was also extended to outdoor planter boxes around the building for consistent waterproofing protection.
For exposed concrete surfaces, CRL applied Sikalastic 1K, a single-component cementitious waterproofing membrane. Prior to membrane application, all damaged or broken concrete areas were repaired to ensure proper adhesion and long-term performance.
Significant cracking was identified throughout the building’s carpark. CRL addressed this by using cartridge-injection resins from Sika and Parchem to seal leaks and restore structural integrity. Injections were carried out by experienced technicians, ensuring precision and effective sealing. After injection, packers were removed, and injection points were patched to achieve a smooth concrete finish.
This project demonstrated CRL’s capability to deliver multi-system waterproofing and remedial works in a constrained residential setting, ensuring high-quality outcomes across both external and internal environments.
